About the Author

George W. Trippon was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois on Pigeon Hill.  He was a World War II Veteran, serving as a Corporal in the Quartermaster Corps of the U.S. Army from 1942-1944.  In his youth, he was a dancer, educator, fashion designer and writer/publisher.  He founded and operated the Trippon Fashion Center School of Dress Design in Holywood, California for twenty-six years.

He starred in the TV series, "Sew What's New," locally and on The Learning Channel from 1976 through 1992.

His books, "Becoming a Dress Designer" (1970-out of print) and "Sewing Tricks and Treats" and "Let's Design, Cut, Sew and Fit with George W. Trippon" (out of print) were enjoyed by fans across the country and in Canada.

The books "Brady School Memories -- 1925 to 1930" and "Indian Creek" (1999) precede this book and are the basis of this trilogy.

At the time of publishing, Mr. Trippon was 85 years old and retired.  His home, until his passing in 2010 was in Southern California.
